HOUSTON, Tx. — A Houston area preacher reportedly shot an intruder, and it’s not the first time he’s held someone at gunpoint.

It happened early Tuesday at the Church of New Beginnings in Baytown, Texas, where aerial shots showed police activity at the church.

Pastor Benny Holmes told police he was at the church around 6 a.m. when he heard someone trying to break into the building.

The minister armed himself and fired at the man. The burglary suspect, identified as Lee Marvin Blue, 27, was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital via Life Flight, according to KTRK.

No word on his condition.

Pastor Holmes is the same preacher who last year held another suspected thief at gunpoint. After that incident he explained to his congregation why “God said to arm yourself.”
