RICHMOND, Va. -- The last time Nikki-Dee Ray picked up a tennis racket was in seventh grade. This week, one of Virginia's top tennis players, rising St. Christopher’s senior Matthew Fernandez, challenged Nikki-Dee to a match as part of her Nikki-Dee, Can You Be Me segment.
"First, we warmed up and then practiced serving. The next thing I knew we were in the middle of a tennis match," Nikki-Dee said. "Let's just say, after a few more lessons I will be ready for the U.S. Open."
