RICHMOND, VA — One of three inmates who recently died at the city jail, died from natural causes.
Sheriff C.T. Woody, Jr. today released the following statement regarding one of the three decedents who passed away while in custody last week.
“Today we were notified on a preliminary basis by the Office of the Medical Examiner that in the case of Javon Antoine Morris, his Manner of Death was of natural causes, and no foul play is suspected.”
A toxicology report is still pending, and may take several weeks, “
With regards to interest in the dual investigation into the deaths of Shawn Samuel and Zachary Tuggle, it is still ongoing, and we are leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of facts,” Woody said. “We wish to share additional facts when they are made available to us.”
