CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- The family of Candy Basham reported the Chesterfield mother missing. Basham, 37, was last seen Friday after she left Chesterfield bound for Gastonia, North Carolina, according to her husband Jonathan Basham. Candy, who was driving with her mother, was headed to North Carolina to see her children who live there.  Basham's sister said she saw Candy on Friday night, but no one was seen her since.

"She told me she loved me and she couldn't stop hugging and kissing me and that's the last time I saw her," Jonathan Basham said.  "She made it to her mother's house, she called me and said she was going to go to sleep so she could see her son in the morning."

But Basham later found out that Candy went to her sister's house in Cramerton, NC instead.

"Her sister said she was meeting up with some drug dealers and that's the last I heard from her Friday night," said Basham.

Texts sent to his wife Saturday went unreturned.

"Honey, your husband misses you, we want you back home. We don't care what you've done. Everybody is worried, upset been crying. We miss you and want you home. I love you bye," said Basham in a voicemail to his wife Monday.

"Everybody has been calling her phone and texted her we've put Facebook messages sharing about her missing and she hasn't responded to nobody," he said.

Basham is described as a white female, 5'4 or 5'5, 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen driving a light blue Toyota Camry with Virginia tags SKNS4LF.

Basham's husband said he feared drugs may have played a role in his wife's disappearance. He said his wife of two and a half years has a history of addiction and was due in court next month on a grand larceny charges. Online court records confirmed Jonathan Basham's claim.

"I think possible kidnapping because I have noticed a lot of money missing from my account," Basham also speculated.

Basham is missing more than $800 from ATM withdraws in the Gastonia area. The last one was Sunday afternoon. His account is now in the negative.

Jonathan is hoping for the best but fears the worst for his wife who has a history of drug abuse and an extensive criminal record.

"What's most important?" asked CBS 6 Reporter Laura French.

"Her being safe," Basham said.

"What do you fear?" asked French.

"Her being dead, overdose or somebody shot her or killed her because of the drugs," Basham said.

Basham says investigators have told him there is evidence Candy is in a dangerous drug environment.

"Please come home and if anyone is holding her let my baby go," said Candy's mom Denise Mack. "Bring her home to us," added Mack.

Chesterfield Police arrived at the Basham home near the Chesterfield airport at about noon Monday, however the investigation is that of the Gastonia Police Department. Anyone with information about Basham can call Chesterfield Police at 804-748-1251 or the Gastonia Police Department at 704-866-3300.
