HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A security breach at Richmond International Airport Sunday afternoon created major delays for travelers.

Troy Bell, a spokesperson for the airport, said a person tried to enter Concourse B without passing through security at 4 p.m.

As a result, security was breached and screenings were shut down. Screenings resumed at 4:33 p.m., but because of the breach, Bell said everyone had to be re-screened.

A photo from WTVR CBS 6 reporter Joe St. George taken at 5:15 p.m. shows the line of travelers waiting to be screened extending all the way to the airport’s main entrance.

Bell said the incident is under investigation.
