FARMINGTON, Utah — Brianne Altice, a former Davis County English teacher, was sentenced on Thursday to one to 15 years in prison for each of the three counts for having sexual relations with three of her students.

KUTV reports Judge Thomas Kay handed down the sentence and said two of the sentences will run at the same time, while one sentence will run after the other two.

Altice pleaded guilty to three counts of forcible sexual abuse in April after originally being charged with rape in 2013.

A 16-year-old boy and former student told police he had been involved in a sexual and ongoing relationship with Altice. After that, two more boys came forward saying they had been sexually involved with the teacher.

One of the boys was 16 and two were 17 when Brianne Altice had sex with them, and she continued one of the sexual relationships after she was first arrested two years ago, prosecutors say.

The 36-year-old cried as she pleaded guilty to three counts of forcible sexual abuse in April in return for prosecutors dropping 11 other charges.

Altice worked for the Davis School District for nine consecutive years, teaching at Wasatch Elementary, Sunset Junior High and Davis High. She was fired in February 2014.
