RICHMOND, Va. — A number of rainbows were spotted after a line of storms that brought thunder and heavy rain to Central Virginia on the Fourth of July exited just in time for tonight’s fireworks.

Just before 6 p.m., CBS 6 Meteorologist Mike Goldberg tweeted that heavy rain would be moving into the metro. However, the good news was that Goldberg predicted that line of storms would move out before area fireworks began.

As of 7 p.m., the radar showed the rain coming to an end in Metro Richmond. (And the rain moved out of the Tri-Cities by around 8 p.m.)

After the storm moved out, rainbows popped up across the area, including one spotted outside the WTVR CBS 6 studios along Broad Street.

Another photo of that rainbow was taken from the Diamond.

This lovely rainbow was spotted in Short Pump around 6:30 p.m.

This photo shows a rainbow over hields Lake.

Another patriotic shot comes from “UNCgal4ever” Midlothian.
