NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- A former Virginia high school teacher accused of showing nude selfies to students was arrested and charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a child. Melissa Waters Kidd, 34, resigned from her job at Woodside High School in Newport News when the allegations surfaced earlier this year.

A search warrant filed in the case indicated three students told police the 34-year-old teacher showed them before-and-after photos of her breast augmentation. The photos were on the teacher’s phone. One student said the teacher also shared photos of her genitals.

The students were between 16 and 17 years old at the time of the alleged offenses, police told WTKR. Kidd, who lives in Hampton, was arrested Thursday.

Earlier, school officials confirmed the teacher was placed on administrative leave without pay when the allegations were first made in March. School officials handed the case over to Child Protective Services and Newport News Police.
