HANOVER COUNTY, Va. -- Police identified the woman found dead inside a western Hanover home as 44-year-old Leaudrey Salmon, of Pinhook Road, in Hanover County . Deputies discovered her body after a 911 hang-up brought them to the Pinhook Road home in the Rockville-area of Hanover. She had suffered "apparent trauma," investigators said.
Investigators later obtained a first-degree murder arrest warrant on Lamare Jennings, 38, of Goochland County, in connection with the incident, Hanover County Sheriff's Office spokesman Major Mike Trice said.
Salmon's family members were too upset to speak publicly, but did confirm Jennings and Salmon were dating. Salmon, they said, was a mother of two children.
"I'm really shocked because no one in the neighborhood, as far as I know, heard anything," long-time neighbor, Lenard Norris said.
"Just after arrival [at the home], a single vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Pinhook Road and Vontay Road. When Deputies arrived on the scene of the crash the vehicle was unoccupied," Trice said. Investigators are still working to determine if the two incidents are related.
