CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Family and friends gathered in Chesterfield County Saturday to remember the lives of Morgan Rogers and her one-year-old daughter Leah. The mother and child were found dead in their home on May 29. During Saturday's service, friends and family described Morgan and Leah as inseparable.

“She was just a beautiful person,” said Shelly Munn. "A beautiful person and her daughter was a beautiful young baby. And it’s sad but we have to look to our father to help us get through this.”

Police found the bodies in their Chesterfield home after they were called there to conduct a welfare check. Several hours later, Leah's father, 46-year-old Stafford Shaw, was killed in a fatal crash on Interstate 295 while eluding police. Shaw and two other people were killed in the crash.
