RICHMND, Va. — A well-known restaurateur and chef is adding Scott’s Addition to his menu. Peter Chang plans to open a new restaurant in the Hofheimer Building at 2816 W. Broad St., near the intersection of Broad and Boulevard. Chang has taken a 10-year lease on a 3,000-square-foot section of the 15,000-square-foot property. The restaurant will look to open in the fall. It will be Chang’s first restaurant in Richmond’s city limits and his second in the Richmond area, joining his Peter Chang China Café, which opened in Short Pump in 2012.
“I was drawn to the Hofheimer Building for its central location,” Chang said in a press release. “I can truly serve all of my downtown customers from this location.”
Chang’s camp struck the deal for the new restaurant with Carter and Annie Snipes, who purchased the Hofheimer building earlier this year.
“We think he’s going to be a big addition to the neighborhood,” said Carter Snipes. “He’s going to be right smack dab in the city.”
The Snipeses have a $1.4 million rehab planned for the property.
