Foul smell leads to discovery of human remains in ravine near Chesterfield Towne Center

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- An investigation is underway after human remains were discovered in a ravine behind Crossroads Business Park off Busy Street in Chesterfield County. Police have not yet said whether the remains were that of a male or female. Someone discovered the remains Monday morning and called police.

The ravine where the remains were discovered was near the intersection of Midlothian Turnpike and Courthouse Road, across the street from Chesterfield Towne Center. Detectives went business to business at the Crossroads Business Park Monday morning to see if anyone saw anything suspicious.
