Police increase patrols after gunshots reported near VCU

RICHMOND, Va. — Nothing suspicious was found when police responded to the VCU campus for a report of an early morning shooting Friday in Richmond. VCU and Richmond Police went to the area of Harrison Street and West Franklin Street at about 4:35 a.m. to investigate after someone reported gunshots.

“The VCU community should resume normal activity as police have increased patrols in that area,” a message on the VCU alert page read. “There were no reported injuries in connection to this incident.”
