HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- The Henrico Police Department was holding a license and equipment check point Wednesday night when a man refused to stop.
After fleeing the scene, the driver hit a car on Lakeside Avenue. Then, police say, the driver drove into the city, taking out some trees in the median in front of the Clarion Hotel on North Boulevard.
After losing control and crashing at the I64/ I95 entrance ramp, police say the man tries to run on foot, but was quickly captured.
Henrico police confirmed the driver has been charged with DUI, driving with a revoked license, and felony eluding police. Other charges are pending.
