RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond school board member Derik Jones, Mayor Dwight Jones’ son, is throwing his hat into the ring for the State Senate seat currently held by Roslyn Dance.
A spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Virginia confirms Jones has submitted a petition for candidacy for the June Democratic primary.
If approved Jones will join Joe Morrissey, Joe Preston and Dance all vying for the Democratic nomination in the 16th district.
