HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – Police identified the man killed in a single-car crash near North Laburnum Avenue and Nine Mile Road Tuesday in eastern Henrico as James E. Williams, 64, of Masonic Lane. The crash was reported at about 6:36 p.m. Tuesday.
“A Honda CRX, driven by Mr. Williams, was traveling south on Laburnum Avenue. The vehicle lost control and struck a tree, causing heavy damage to the front end of the vehicle.,” Henrico Police spokeswoman Capt. Linda Toney said. “Mr. Williams was transported to VCU Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. ”
Neither alcohol nor speed appeared to play a role in this crash, police said. The Henrico Crash Team continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
