RICHMOND, Va - 2015 Newbery Medal Winning Author Kwame Alexander encourages families to celebrate National Reading Month by helping young children engage in reading. The PTA Family Reading Experience, Powered by Kindle, is a national program aimed at engaging the entire family in improving reading skills or students between kindergarten and fifth grade through fun, school-based literacy events. Kwame’s latest novel, ‘The Crossover’ was recognized as this year’s most outstanding contribution to children’s literature.
