Richmond’s fourth homicide victim found in walkway with head wound

RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond Police detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred this weekend in the city’s east end.

At approximately 2:50 a.m., Sunday, March 15, officers were called to an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Coalter Street. They quickly located the victim, Frizzell Belton, 41, of the 3800 block of Austin Avenue, lying unconscious with a head injury in a breezeway of the building.

He was transported to VCU Medical Center where he died early Monday morning.

This is Richmond’s fourth homicide of 2015.
