UVA eliminated in the ACC semis, VCU reaches the A-10 semifinals

UVA was upset in the ACC semifinals by North Carolina 71-67.  Cavs' guard Malcolm Brogdon led all scorers with 25, including a stretch of 12 straight points for Virginia.  Justin Jackson led three Tar Heels players in double figures with 22.

The VCU Rams ended Richmond's run in the A-10 tournament with a 70-67 win to advance to the conference semifinals for the 3rd year in a row.  Melvin Johnson hit five three pointers in scoring a team-high 23 points.  The Spiders' Kendall Anthony led all scorers with 26.  VCU will meet Davidson in the A-10 semifinals.

Randolph-Macon reached the Elite 8 after a 64-57 win over St. John Fisher.  Joe Hassell led the Yellow Jackets with 21.  They will meet Virginia Wesleyan at Crenshaw Gym on Saturday for a trip to the Final Four.
