RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond Police responded to a double shooting on Friday at 9:15 p.m. near the Powhatan Playground in the city’s Fulton district.
Police say that one victim, a 22-year-old male, was found sitting on a porch at Goddin Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot -- that victim is expected to be okay.
Officers later found a second person, a 21-year-old male, shot multiple times at the 1000 block of Garber Street. Paramedics took that victim to VCU Medical Center with life threatening injuries. As of Saturday afternoon, the victim was listed as heavily medicated and in critical condition.
Police received several calls about random gunfire prior to arriving on scene. A third suspect was being sought. Police say that investigation is currently on standby and needs more information from the victim in critical condition. No motive has been determined.
