CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Fire crews from Chesterfield County are on the scene at Providence Middle School for a two-alarm fire.
According to fire officials, smoke was found inside the auditorium at around 3 p.m.
Nearly 100 students who were at the school for after-school activities were evacuated.
Jason Elmore with Chesterfield Fire and EMS said that he believes the fire started in an HVAC unit on the roof and is likely mechanical in nature.
He believes school shouldn't be impacted tomorrow. No injuries have been reported.
