CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — One person is dead after a single-car accident at the 15400 block of Genito Rd. near Bailey Farm Road in Chesterfield County.

According to a witness at the scene, the driver of the car struck several trees in the crash.

A female driver was traveling with a three-year-old who is suffering from minor injuries. The witness comforted the child until rescue crews arrived.

Chesterfield County Police say Natali E. Castellanos-Tyler, 30, lost control of the 2002 Ford Explorer she was driving and struck a tree.

Castellanos-Tyler was transported to Chippenham Hospital and was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries.  The juvenile passenger was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Her family told CBS 6 that “she was a loving wife and mother of three and supported by many friends and family and will be missed by many.”

Her nine-year-old child is in El Salvador and the family is coming in from there tomorrow.

She lived in Chesterfield, not far from the accident scene, in the Beckenham  subdivision.

A fund has been set up to help her family with funeral expenses. The family released the following statement on the GoFundMe page:

“Natalie Castellanos Tyler was killed in a  car accident today on Genito Road. She leaves behind  three children aged 9, 2, and 1. Her husband and family are devastated and will undoubtedly need help funding her funeral as her husband was a student and working part time at St. Francis Hospital. Any assistance given to this beautiful  familly in this tragic time would be received with gratitude.”

Although the cause of the fatal accident has not been determined, Sgt. Jason Seamster said that the “crash occurred when the roadways were getting wet from the sleet.”
