CHESTERFIELD, Va. -- An Amelia County man is behind bars after a violent attack inside a Chesterfield law firm.

Kevin O'Hara, 46, was reportedly carrying a box-cutter when he entered Owen & Owens Wednesday evening.

"We are certainly used to dealing with emotions, but in the nine years we've been a firm nothing like this has ever happened," attorney Samuel Kaufman said.

Kaufman was one of a dozen people inside the firm, when O'Hara stormed inside. Now Kaufman bears the wound he suffered during O'Hara's alleged attack.

O'Hara is said to have been upset following a recent court case, in which the judge sided with Owen & Owens.

"He was either disgruntled or any other adjective you want to use, to cause him to do that," Kaufman said.

O'Hara remains behind bars one day after the attack. CBS 6 still stopped by his house, where a young woman answered the door but had "no comment."

Meanwhile, those at Owen & Owens said they are now looking at ways to increase security measures at the firm.

O'Hara is charged with two counts of abduction, two counts of simple assault, malicious wounding, strangulation, cruelty to animals and trespassing. He kicked a dog that was inside the law firm. He is being held without bond in the Chesterfield County Jail. O'Hara is set to appear back in court March 18.
