It’s been 5 years since Morgan Harrington’s body was found on Albemarle County farm

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — The body of Morgan Harrington was discovered on a rural Albemarle County farm five years ago Monday.

The Virginia Tech student disappeared outside John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville while attending a Metallica concert on Oct. 17, 2009.

In November, police forensically linked Harrington to Jesse Matthew Jr., who was charged with the abduction of UVa. student Hannah Graham.

Graham’s body was discovered just over five miles from where Harrington’s body was found.

Matthew’s DNA was found on the black “Pantera” shirt Morgan Harrington wore the night she disappeared, according to a search warrant obtained by CBS 6 reporter Laura French.

French spoke to Harrington’s parents Sunday night.

The family said they are holding up thanks to the many people who have held them up with love and prayer and they continue to honor their daughter’s memory through their work with Help Save the Next Girl foundation.

No one has been charged with Harrington’s murder.
