RICHMOND, Va. — Student of the month, perfect attendance, and most improved are all awards given to well-deserved students from their teachers. But after a long school year of grading papers and tedious parent-teacher conferences, teachers deserve awards too. Students, parents, colleagues, school personnel and administrators are highly encouraged to nominate any well-deserved teachers in Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover and the city of Richmond for the 2015 REB Awards for Teaching Excellence. Teachers from the Department of Juvenile Justice, Division of Education are also eligible for the award too.
Sponsored by the Community Foundation, this yearly award recognizes, supports, and gives professional development grants of $4,000 to $12,000 to the winning honorees.
You can nominate a teacher by going onto Community Foundation’s nomination portal. The deadline to submit a teacher’s name is February 23, 2015 at 5 p.m. Nominations must be made online. Click here for more information about teachers’ eligibility and the nomination process.
