HAMILTON, Montana – A 55-year-old man has been sentenced to 200 years in prison for impregnating his 11-year-old granddaughter and molesting the victim’s younger sister.

Mikeal Shane Pruett, of Stevensville, Montana, was arrested in June after the 11-year-old girl was found to be 32 weeks pregnant. She gave birth in August.

The Missoulian reportedthat Pruett was sentenced Wednesday to 100 years each on two counts of incest.

“The only real question is how much should be suspended,” Ravalli County Attorney Bill Fulbright said. “In my view, over the course of his life, he has set no boundaries when it comes to committing sexual offenses. … Everything about the defendant’s life and conduct in Ravalli County has earned him a 100-year sentence.”

The grandfather, who was the guardian of both victims, will be eligible for parole when he is 105.

The judge said that Pruett has a longtime history of a predatory type of sexual conduct toward younger females and “seems to lack any kind of semblance of a conscience.”
