CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- The owner of the Rainbow Station at The Boulders in North Chesterfield is upset.

"The fact that we are a preschool, there are children here, we here to provide care to these children and provide a safe environment and this is where they choose to do that sort of activity is really frustrating," John Sims said.

The activity that has Sims so frustrated is criminal.

Thieves broke into two vehicles parked outside the Rainbow Station on Boulder Spring Drive on Monday night and stole purses that were left in the locked cars.

The crimes, police said, happened around pick-up time, 5 p.m., as parents parked and ran in to collect their child.

One of the victims was a parents, the other a Rainbow Station employee.

In both break-ins, someone smashed out the driver's side window, reached into the vehicle and stole the bag.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Chesterfield Police at 804-748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
