BOSTON – CNN — Beantown is going Olympic. The United States Olympic Committee selected Boston as the American city to bid for the 2024 games.

The committee says the decision to select Boston was a unanimous one. Boston beat out Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.

It’s been nearly two decades since the U.S. hosted the Olympic and Paralympic games. That was in Atlanta in 1996.

We won’t know for a while if Boston will bring the Olympics back to the USA. The International Olympic Committee won’t make its decision until 2017.
