BEDFORD, Va. — A Virginia mother accused of strangling her two-year-old son with a stuffed animal will go before a judge. Shana Witt was found competent to stand trial, according to a report on WDBJ7.com.
Jordan Smith, 2, was found dead in Witt’s home back in February. The child’s father, Michael Smith, had already pleaded guilty to child abuse and neglect charges. He has not yet been sentenced for the crime.
Prosecutors said Witt waited to call 911 after she strangled her son because she had to clean the meth lab in her home.
