Fredericksburg Walmart closed temporarily to check bomb threat

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A Fredericksburg Walmart was evacuated shortly after 2 p.m. when an anonymous caller called the store with a bomb threat.

The WalMart manager decided to evacuated the store and call in the Spotsylvania Country Sheriff’s officer, said Capt. Jeff Pearce, Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies have secured the scene and three K-9 teams are on site searching the store. Deputies are helping with the search outside.

Search should take about another hour and afterwards the facility will be released back to Walmart.

The store is located at 10001 Southpoint Pkwy.
