Police ID Southside double shooting victims

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police said a second victim has died in a shooting that left another man dead on Richmond's Southside Sunday morning.

Officers found two wounded men on the ground near the 3200 block of Decatur Street while responding to calls of gunfire around 5 a.m.

Police said 38-year-old Randy Smith Jr., of the 3200 block of Decatur Street, died at the scene.

Twenty-one-year-old Jayquan L. Powell, of the 2300 block of Fairfield Avenue, was taken to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Powell succumbed to his injuries Sunday night.

Police have not announced any suspects or arrests, but said they are following up on several leads
