RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond police have arrested two men from the Virgin Islands and are hunting for a third suspect after a woman was shot and killed inside a Richmond hotel room earlier this month.
Officials said Thursday afternoon that 20-year-old Sheanne U. Rivera, Of St. Croix in the Virgin Islands, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Another person was involved, but since then the case was nolle prosecuted and their record expunged (updated).
Detectives are also asking for the public’s help to find 19-year-old J’Wa E. Charlery, who is also from St. Croix and wanted on the same charge.
“The charge stems from the Nov. 2 homicide of Eboniece M. Escobar, 22, of New York, New York, at the Clarion Hotel at 3207 N. Boulevard just before 10 p.m.,” a Richmond Police Department spokeswoman wrote in an email. “When officers arrived that day, they found the victim inside a hotel room suffering from a gunshot wound. She died at the scene.”
