Police close all lanes on section of I-95 south to investigate pedestrian death

95 crash tuesday night

HENRICO, Va. – All lanes are closed just north of Chamberlayne Ave. /Rt. 301 at mile marker 82.

Virginia State Police are currently investigating a pedestrian death that occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday night on I-95 just south of Exit 83/Parham Road in Henrico County.

At this time, all southbound lanes of I-95 are closed to through traffic.

Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route. There is currently an approximate two-mile backup. Expect delays.

Traffic is being detoured to Exit 83 to Parham Rd./Rt. 73 until further notice.

CBS 6 will be briefed by state police and have an update in the 11 p.m. newscast.
