RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Fire crews battled a two-alarm fire at a home along the 1900 block of Carter Street, between Maymont and the North Bank Trail, early Friday morning.
Neighbors said they heard explosions at the home which was unoccupied and under construction when the fire started at about 5:30 a.m. Fire crews had the flames under control by 6:30 a.m.
The home was part of an entire row of new homes under construction in that area.
It does not appear the fire damaged any other home.
Officials are investigating what sparked the blaze.
