RICHMOND, Va. — Tens of thousands of potentially embarrassing, and possibly illegal, pictures taken and shared using the Snapchat app could soon be available online for the world to see.
Hackers claimed they got access to the Snapchat pictures which are supposed to disappear moments after they are sent and received using the social media platform that is popular among teens and young adults, according to a report on Yahoo.com.
Since many Snapchat users are under 18, and some images sent via Snapchat can be consider explicit, there is a chance some of the photos hackers have threatened to release could be considered child porn.
The hacker has claimed he put the stolen photos into a searchable database that will be made available in the coming days.
