CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – A driver was Medflighted to the hospital after her car hit a tree and landed in a creek in Chesterfield County Monday afternoon. Chesterfield Fire and EMS spokesman Lt. Jason Elmore said the car was traveling on Nash Road near Highland Glen Drive when it struck a tree around 3:15 p.m. The vehicle then ran down an embankment and landed in a creek.
Because of recent heavy rains, the car was partially submerged in the creek. Photos showed crews used a ladder to reach the vehicle and pull out the driver. She was then flown to VCU Medical Center to be treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led up to this crash.
