Geronimo Aguilar’s lawyers ask for one-year delay

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Lawyers for the former pastor of Richmond’s largest church are asking for a year’s delay before he goes to trial.

Geronimo Aguilar, known to many as Pastor G, faces charges he had sex with underage girls in Texas in 1996 and 1997.

Prosecutors had asked that Aguilar have a speedy trial.

The judge could rule later this week on the conflicting motions at which time Aguilar’s trial date will be set.

Aguilar was indicted on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14, a first-degree felony that carries a maximum punishment of life in prison.

He was also indicted on three counts of sexual assault of a child under 17 and three counts of indecency with a child—all of which are second-degree felonies punishable by a maximum of 20 years in prison.

He was indicted in September 2013. Obviously, reporters were there. Did they report
on a justifiable reason for another year’s delay?

Lock up your daughters in this Country or any other cause I believe the scumbag is gonna run and hide. What a piece of trash and what about justice for the kids? So sick of perverts getting all the rights and the victims feeling are never taken into account. Rot Pastor G.

Is there any doubt, now. that new era “Justice” is set up and slanted for the criminals and not
for the protection, defense, and welfare of legal, law-abiding Citizens, victims, and the defenseless?

He’s had long enough! I hope, after he’s found guilty in Texas, that charges are brought against him in Virginia for what he’s done. What a HORRIBLE excuse for a human being and a representative of a religion. I hope he rots.

What was the reason for a 1 year delay? It wasn’t reported as to why he needs 1 more year. I figure the Judge will not allow it. The alleged crime took place 16 years ago.
