“The overpass height is listed at 11’6″, per an image captured on Google maps.” But was there a sign on or around the overpass??

There are two signs (one on either side of Parham) leading up to it and then another at the split, directly before the overpass. That’s 3 he missed.

what is up with these big rig drivers? They should know the height of their trailer they are pulling and when not to enter a area that the trailer will not fit!

He was probably trying to avoid the fine for getting back out of this situation and decided to see what would happen. And odds are pretty good he isn’t from VA… Just throwing that out there.

Don’t think all the facts, figures, and statistics on big rig accidents, speeding, skirting laws, rules regulations and weighing stations has been processed, yet, into a Probability Analysis that
    they are increasing More Dangerous.

The most recent year of complete crash data released was 2011. Here are some key points:
There were 3,341 fatal crashes involving large trucks.
3,757 people died crashes involving large trucks (not 10,000).
Research shows that of those 3,341 wrecks involving large trucks, 75 to 80 percent of those wrecks were not the fault of the trucker.
What the media should be focused on is how most people on the road are dying.
There were 25,697 fatal crashes that did not involve large trucks.
28,165 people died in crashes that did not involve large trucks.

What about all the texting drivers thats the real cause of the extra wrecks big truck and small cars alike.
“Nothing says I Want to die louder than cutting someone off especially a Big Rig”
Now this is just a dip that cant read or just blindly follows GPS.

Well first of all lets set the bar straight and high. Trucking 101 is that all trucks are measured at 13′ 6″ so if that being said, the driver should have never even been near or around a 11′ 6″ over pass if he or she was paying any attention to their surroundings. What a true dummy !!!!!!!
