RICHMOND, Va- An unusual accident on Interstate 95 overnight.  Around midnight, a 911 call came in saying a car went off the roadway near 95 Northbound near the I-64 split, which is just north of The Boulevard/Diamond exit.  State Police spent at least 20 minutes locating the car crash.  They finally did and found a white Nissan Altima in a heavily wooded area, right off I-95 at Exit 79 where Interstate 64 Westbound splits off to the right.  It appears the driver missed both I-95 to the left and the exit to the right, instead heading into the trees in between the two.

95 64 crash

The car was located in a ravine just off the Interstate 95.  The driver had to be extricated from the car.  You can see in the video the roof was pulled back to free the driver.  That person was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries.  No word on what may have cause the crash or if anyone else was involved.
