Lanes reopen after downed cable closed I-85 in Dinwiddie

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. — A downed fiber optic cable down closed all lanes of I-85 (exit 63) near Boydton Plank Road in Dinwiddie County Tuesday afternoon. The lanes reopened at about 1:15 p.m.

Virginia State Police closed all I-85 northbound and southbound traffic at about 11:55 a.m. due to the downed line.

Traffic was routed onto Washington Street and Wythe Street. Additionally, the I-95 north and south exits to I-85 were under a detour.
