Teen indicted on murder charges for killing ‘tiny hero’ Marty Cobb

RICHMOND, Va. – A 16-year-old Richmond boy was indicted on murder charges in connection to the killing of eight-year-old Marty Cobb.

A grand jury indicted Mairese Washington Monday on charges of second-degree murder, malicious wounding and strangulation, according to court records.

Cobb was killed May 1 along Brandon Road near his South Richmond home.

Family members said Marty Cobb was defending his 12-year-old sister from Washington when the teen then attacked Marty.

Washington was arrested two days later in connection with the homicide.

In June, a judge ruled Washington would be tried as an adult. Prior to that ruling, CBS 6 did not name Washington as the suspect, per station policy regarding the anonymity of juveniles.

A Richmond mother, unrelated to the Cobb case, later provided documents that showed Washington was charged with malicious wounding after a 2010 attack on her then three-year-old son. She said Washington used a hammer in that attack.

Jeffrey Dahmer had a good home. While you may have a point, I don’t think you can blankly blame the home without know what it was like there.

It is unfortunate that a child was killed by a child. People have got to want change before things like this stop. I think the home is the place to start and the parents have got to be there for their children.

Unfortunately that’s not always true – nor is it true that just because one comes from a broken home one is destined to be a low life scumbag. This is a personal anecdote but I know a kid who grew up in a good home, who’s parents were very supportive, went to a great school, and decided to torch his teacher’s house… only he got the wrong house. Fortunately no one was hurt but this “good kid from a good family” was not such a good kid.

So good of you for sharing with the readers that which is “true” and that which is “not true” in the arena of being raised in a good home. Another truth is that athynz IS the village idiot.

David just cannot resist commenting to me – he’s homo-obsessed. It’s really creepy as he’s been told time and time again I have no interest in him.

Tell ya what David – you’ve said I lied prove it. You say I’m wrong – prove it. You call me an idiot and yet cannot back up your words. So I’m considering the source of the insult and quite simply you have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting.

athynz it would be so easy to provide proof for each of your absurd blatherings. You are simply not worthy of discourse. You flatter yourself, as usual. If I did have a homosexual bent, I surely would not be attracted to an obese, blowhard, simpleton as yourself. You should shut up and try to learn something, if that is possible.

Then why do you stalk me David? If you don’t what I have to say scroll past or better yet leave. And it’s obvious you cannot prove me wrong or prove that I lied despite your claim of it being “so easy”… if it is “so easy” then do so. Or shut your cocksucker.

athynz you are obsessed with homosexuality. Perhaps it is time for you to come out of the closet. Sorry, but I play for the other team.

Well there would be a lot more killers if “not being raised in a good home “is the blame…. some comments on here are lack of common sense.. might be book smart…but no kind of common sense… sad but true

Degeneracy crosses all all racial and economic and academic barriers. One could be a nice person, have social skills, and be a stalker or worse.

    Example: Ted Bundy.
