Suspect in custody for murder after woman’s body found

HOPEWELL, Va. - Police have arrested 52-year-old Ulysses Blanding for first-degree murder after a woman's body was found  Saturday afternoon in Hopewell.

Police responded to the Davisville Apartments for a domestic dispute just before 4 p.m.

There police found 28-year-old Cathrine Elizabeth Lipford's body.

She had been stabbed multiple times, police said.

"Police are searching for a Hopewell resident Ulysses Blanding Jr.," police wrote in a statement. "Warrants are currently on file for Murder in the 1st Degree in relation to the Homicide of Catherine Elizabeth Lipford."

    Close all public housing complexes… And these neighborhoods are only used for crime, drugs, murder, thievery and hiding fugitives. You want to be treated like first-class citizens then start acting like it
