HAMPTON, Va. (WTKR) — A teenager in Hampton is dead after opening his door to a gun. Police say he was shot after he opened his front door when someone rang the bell.
Police received a call around 10:49 p.m. Thursday on Downing Street.
When they arrived they found a 17-year-old, identified as Adonus Deondre Turner, suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso inside his residence.
Turner was transported to a local hospital, where his condition continued to deteriorate. He later died.
Police say they do not think this was a random act of violence and are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect or suspects in the homicide, which occurred on Downing Street.
