In many cases, animals and children have a special bond. In this video that has recently gone viral it again becomes clear that humans aren’t the only species capable of compassion.
In a video posted to YouTube, a little girl captivates a sweet and playful sea lion at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington D.C.
The child runs back and forth along the tank as the sea lion swims beside her.
At one point, she trips and falls to the ground and the sea lion has a priceless reaction.
The sea lion immediately stops as though wondering if she is okay.
The clip was posted over a year ago, but recently went viral.
Sadly, Sophie the sea lion died earlier this month. She was two years old. The zookeeprs reported that she was found dead at the bottom of her pool. The results from her necropsy have not been reported yet.
