RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Richmond Police and Richmond Ambulance Authority are on scene in Blackwell after a call for service in the area for a shooting.

Police responded to the call for service, just after 6 p.m.,  at the basketball  courts near the Blackwell Elementary school.

Two victims were shot. One was a 19-year-old adult male and the other a 17-year-old juvenile male.  The 19-year-old victim was shot in the arm and the other teenager was shot in the back.

Both of the injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, and the victims have been taken to VCU Medical Center.

The shooting occurred on the playground that is run by Richmond Parks and Recreation. The basketball court is part of the Maury Recreational Area in the 1500 block of Maury Street.

Police said that the fighting erupted between juveniles and older men. It is believed that four shots were fired.
