Suspect taken into custody after Mayo Bridge crash

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond Police took a man into custody after he crashed a car on the Mayo Bridge in Richmond.

Police said the man is a suspect in a series of property crimes.

When detectives spotted the man, they said he ran off and then got into a car on Decatur Street. The man drove several blocks before he lost control of the car on the Mayo Bridge and crashed into a wall.

The man, who was not seriously injured, was charged with felony eluding police.

He is still a suspect in the property crime cases.
