RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — Officials said dozens of unregistered people tried to run in the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K last weekend in Richmond.

Sports Backers Marketing Director Scott Schricker said that somewhere between 100 and 200 people  tried to slip their way through security and run the race without signing up.

However, security attendants apprehended those unregistered runners and they were not allowed to participate in the event.

Around 36,000 people were officially registered for this year’s race.
