(CNN) — Federal prosecutors in Washington are seeking to extradite singer Chris Brown from custody in Los Angeles to stand trial for assault, according to court documents obtained by CNN.

Brown, 24, and body guard Christopher Hollosy are facing assault charges stemming from an incident outside the W hotel in October.

A hearing has been set in Los Angeles for Tuesday to consider Chris Brown’s status and his extradition to Washington for trial.

The trial in the nation’s capital is scheduled for April 17.

Brown is currently locked up in Los Angeles on a probation violation after he was kicked out of a court-ordered drug rehab program.

D.C. prosecutors request that Brown be transferred to U.S. marshals by April 15, according to court documents.

CNN’s Alan Duke contributed to this report.

Eric Holder and Obama have sold out Black men in the United States to their Whites masters. Nothing has actually changed in United States judicial system for black men. No white man would be treated so bad like they are treating Chris Brown. They took his problem with Rhianna and ran away with it, using that as an excuse to ruin his life for ever and assuring their supremacy over Blacks even when Rhianna has confessed that she started the fight which Chris to responded after continuos hit by her. In Opera’s interview Rhianna said that they used her as an excuse to punish him for something she caused. It is very bad that black men continue to receive the rough end of the stick with hard while the token Eric Holder and Obama stay back and watch the perpetual human right abuse of black men in the United States.
