HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- Three Chopt Elementary School welcomed a new principal Wednesday.

Fourth grader Jay Davis became "Principal for a Day" after his family won a silent auction for the Henrico County Public Schools PTA.

Photos show the boy sporting a buttoned-up shirt, tie and briefcase before leaving for work.

Jay spent the day observing classrooms, using the school-wide intercom to deliver announcements and even got to conduct a tornado drill.

Jay also extended recess by an extra five minutes.

My son did the same thing after I had bid and won the auction at Greenfield Elementary School when he was in 5th grade. He had a great day, and now he his finishing up his first year of college!
