HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – The Ashley Stewart at The Shops at Willow Lawn in western Henrico County will close after its parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, a store manager confirmed.
A timetable as to when the store would close was not yet available.
The New Jersey-based store that sells clothing for plus-sized women planned to close 27 of its 168 stores, reported northjersey.com.
“This filing was a necessary step to get Ashley Stewart positioned on the right path for success,” Ashley Stewart senior vice president of finance Michael Abate said in a statement.
Ashley Stewart at The Shops at White Oak Village remains open.
